How to use Mould test

Each dipslides has an easy grip handle and a flexible paddle for the ease of surface testing. With a large paddle for easy results reading.

Using our dipslides is easy, no prior training or experience is required to be able to effectively use the dipslides and read the results.

Inoculation (surfaces)

Remove cap, and withdraw combined cap/tongue unit. Do not touch culture gel. Holding the slide by the tab at each end, press one side of agar against the surface under test, the ribbed portion above the agar will bend to allow full contact.

Repeat with the second side on an area close to the first site.

Replace the slide in the tube, seal firmly, label as required and incubate

Inoculation (fluids)

Remove cap/tongue unit from the tube, and without touching the gel, immerse the tongue in the fluid to be tested for about 10 seconds, or hold the slide under running liquid or spray so that both sides are covered. Allow excess fluid to drain for a few seconds.

Replace in tube, seal firmly, label as required and incubate.

Interpretation

Compare the incubated slide to the charts provided in the leaflet, reading the result from the closes matching picture. Fluids are calibrated in “Colony forming units” (CFU) per millilitre. Surface results are in CXFU per square centimetre.

Disposal

Used slide should be incinerated, autoclaved or soaked in disinfectant for several hours before disposal.
